KARLSTAL GORGE WALKING TRAIL
The Karlstalschlucht walking trail initially follows the Karlstalschlucht circular hiking trail, but takes a shortcut from Oberhammer onwards.
The trail first leads through the garden of Trippstadt Castle to Wilenstein Castle before continuing towards a special landmark of the Western Palatinate: the Karlstalschlucht nature reserve. However, the Karlstal Gorge did not always look as we know it today, as the master gardener Friedrich Ludwig von Sckell designed the Karlstal Gorge in its current form. After passing the Karlstal Gorge, the trail follows a narrow path back to Trippstadt.
