In Rhineland-Palatinate, there is the possibility of obtaining the Fachhochschulreife (entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences) at Fachoberschulen after completing the 10th grade – combined with an extensive practical phase. In numerous vocational schools, you can complete the academic part of the dual education, gain basic vocational skills or acquire the entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences.
With the Meisterschule für Handwerker in Kaiserslautern, the West Palatinate region has the largest training center for craftsmen in Rhineland-Palatinate. Here, you can train in nine different trades and professions and receive further training to become a technician or master craftsman, as well as take advantage of extra-occupational advanced training and continuing education.
