COUNTY OF DONNERSBERG
Life is good in the villages and towns around the Donnersberg. Thanks to the best traffic location, living in the countryside can be combined with a local job or a job in one of the neighboring metropolises.
“In the Palatinate at the top” is the Donnersberg – an impressive mountain range with volcanic origin on which the Celts once built one of their largest settlements. Today, the mild climate allows fruit trees to flourish on its foothills and numerous villages nestle in the picturesque landscape.
In the Alsenz valley in the west of the district there are numerous towns on the traffic axis between Kaiserslautern and Bad Kreuznach. In the eastern part of the district the landscape flows smoothly towards Rheinhessen and Vorderpfalz. Thanks to the excellent transport links via the A63 and A6, the metropolitan regions Rhine-Neckar and Rhine-Main as well as the regional center of Kaiserslautern can be reached quickly.
The largest cities Eisenberg, Kirchheimbolanden, Rockenhausen, Winnweiler and Göllheim are also the most important business locations in the district. Companies from the metal and mechanical engineering as well as the automotive sector have settled here.
In the locations around Alsenz and in the Zellertal, viticulture ensures a good income. Due to the scenic beauty of the region, tourism is also one of the sources of income. Without a doubt, an area that is a good choice not only as a weekend destination but also as a place to live. Get to know the five association communities and get an idea for yourself on site.
