PALATINATE HUT & BEER GARDEN CULTURE

Nowhere in Germany is the network of hikers’ huts to stop off and spend the night as dense as in the Palatinate Forest. Palatinate conviviality and closeness to nature meet here. The Palatinate Forest Association alone manages ten hiking huts in the region. There are also six nature friend houses. Since the huts are still largely operated on a voluntary basis, a look at the opening times is recommended before visiting. Only on Sundays can you be almost certain to actually get something on your plate. Since 2021, the Palatinate hut culture even belongs to the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO.
A year-round alternative is offered by the numerous excursion restaurants with their beautiful beer gardens, which are spread across the whole of the West Palatinate.
Have we forgotten you in our list of huts and beer gardens in the West Palatinate?
