GLAN-BLIES TRAIL

The Glan-Blies Trail runs for more than 120 kilometers from Staudernheim through the district of Kusel to France.
This quality cycle route, classified with four stars by the ADFC, starts in Sarreguemines and ends in Staudernheim; alternatively, it is of course also possible to start in Staudernheim. The Glan-Blies Trail can be covered either as a whole route or divided into five stages. From Sarreguemines, the route follows the Blies river to the baroque town of Blieskastel. In the second stage, you first reach Homburg via a former railway line before heading from the Saarland into the West Palatinate to Waldmohr and on to Ohmbachsee lake. From here, the Glan-Blies Trail leads along the Glan river to Altenglan, where there is the first opportunity for a trolley ride, and then to Ulmet. Now you can explore the northern part of the district of Kusel and the Veldenz Castle in Lauterecken. After Meisenheim and Odernheim, this cycle route finally ends in Staudernheim.
Due to the well-built sections, most of which are also asphalted, and the only slightly hilly route, the cycle path is not too demanding and is therefore also well suited for families.
