FRITZ WUNDERLICH TRAIL

This family-friendly cycle route stretches from the district of Kusel to neighboring Saarland.
The Fritz Wunderlich Trail, which is about 26 kilometers long, starts in Altenglan at the train station. Via Rammelsbach, you reach Kusel, from where it goes along the former railroad line in the middle of the city through the quiet nature to Lichtenberg Castle. Following the course of the railway line, you finally reach Freisen in the Saarland.
The path along the railroad line is characterized by the fact that there is only a slight incline and the route is very quiet. This makes it ideal for families with children.
This cycle path got its name from the Kusel musician Fritz Wunderlich, about whom you can find out more in the Kusel City & Local History Museum.
